Pipe Boxes (3)
A unique colonial piece found in taverns and inns. The clay pipes stored in the box and tobacco and flint in the drawer if one was provided. The clay pipes were community pipes and a traveler could pay the innkeeper a bit and have a smoke, the next patron would break off the clay tip and use the pipe again. -
Candle Boxes (4)
In colonial days, candles were made of animal fats and waxes that attracted pests. They stored the candles in boxes with lids such as the ones reproduced at The Workshop of Charles Neil. These boxes are made of hard figured woods making them special pieces to accent your home. Functionally, they can still store candels, or how about getting those remotes off the table top! These boxes cannot be special ordered but are occasionally available. -
